Terms & Conditions

The term ‘Customer’ refers to the person or organisation making the booking and the ‘Company’ refers to Lightbox Lane Events. When a booking is made and a deposit is paid by the Customer, a contract is deemed to exist which accepts the following Terms & Conditions:

 Deposits & Payments: 

  • All goods remain the property of Lightbox Lane Events at all times.

  • A 20% deposit is payable on the hire of all items on booking. This deposit will secure the booked items for the Customer's event date & be taken off the Customer's final balance.

  • All balances are due no later than four weeks before the Customer's event. No booking is confirmed until the deposit is paid & no deliveries or collections will go ahead until the full hire price is paid.

  • All deposits are non-transferable & any security deposits will only only be refunded on the return of all hired items, at the agreed time & in the condition in which they were collected & in the same packaging (if applicable).

  • Security deposits will be returned to the Customer within seven days of the item's return date, once it is agreed that all the above points are satisfied (if applicable).

  • In the event of any damaged or missing items, the total cost payable will be confirmed in writing to the Customer within seven days of the item's return date. Should the Customer have not paid a security deposit or the damaged or missing items have a higher value than any security deposit paid, the Customer will be sent an invoice for the balance & payment must be made to the Company within seven days of the invoice date. If a security deposit has been paid, the cost will be deducted from this security deposit & any remaining amount of deposit credited to the Customer within seven days where applicable.

  • All prices are inclusive of VAT.


Delivery & Set Up Charges:

     Delivery Charges:

  •         Within Grimsby & Cleethorpes for orders under £200 - £25 delivery charge

  •         Within Grimsby & Cleethorpes for orders of £200 & over - FREE DELIVERY

  •         Up to 25 miles travel from DN32 (minimum order of £250) - £35 delivery charge

Please be aware that some orders may incur set up & loading charges. Any set up or loading charges will be confirmed in the initial quote & again at the time of booking.

Collection & Delivery Arrangements:

  • The Customer will be contacted four weeks prior to their event by email (providing their deposit & full hire price is paid in full), to confirm collection & return times (either by delivery or customer collection).

  • It is the Customer's responsibility to ensure that the venue is aware of this time slot & that access is available. If the Company is unable to gain access to the venue at the agreed time, they may not be able to return to re-deliver & no refund will be given.

  • The Company will collect the items the following day from the venue in every instance, unless agreed otherwise beforehand. If they are unable to do so, due to the venue, or the Customer, they reserve the right to charge an additional full day’s hire.

  • When making deliveries the Company will unload all items from the vehicle, it is then the responsibility of the Customer to move them safely to the desired location unless the Customer is using the Company’s Set Up Service.

  • If the Set Up Service is being used all items will be set up by the Company & unless agreed prior, shall not be moved under any circumstances.

  • If the Customer is collecting the items themselves, it is their responsibility to ensure that their vehicle is large enough for the transit of all items & that they are transported safely.

  • The Customer must satisfy themselves of the suitability, condition & placement of items upon receipt. Acceptance of the items by collection or delivery means the items are deemed to be in a clean undamaged condition.

  • It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure that their venue has appropriate access & that there is sufficient space to site all items. For any Light Up Letters being hired, the Customer must ensure that there are power supply points within five meters of where the Letters are being sited.

  • All items must remain indoors at all times (unless the item is specifically for outside use or outside use has been agreed prior).

  • A time slot will be allocated for delivery to the venue & a confirmation email sent to the Customer four weeks before the event, providing the deposit & full hire price is paid in full. Any changes to this time must be discussed & agreed at this point & a confirmation email will be re-sent.

  • Items are hired for a twenty-four-hour period, unless agreed otherwise by the Company.

Further Customer Responsibilities:

  • The Customer is not permitted to attach banners or pictures of any description to the Company’s items.

  • All hired items are the responsibility of the Customer from the time the collection / delivery has taken place until the time they have been returned to / collected by the Company. We strongly advise the Customer to obtain suitable insurance to cover all of the items that they have hired.

  • The Customer must take all reasonable care for their own health & safety, & for the health & safety of others who may be affected by their actions, omissions or use of equipment. The Company accepts no responsibility for the hired items causing injury to any person, object or premises during the hire period. Some items are vintage therefore there may be splinters, rusted metal etc. It is the Customer's responsibility to take reasonable precautions to avoid injury to themselves & others, or damage to clothing when hiring the items.


  • All cancellations must be made in writing. Any cancellations made prior to four weeks of the event date will result in the forfeit of the 20% deposit. For any cancellations made within four weeks of the event date, the balance of the full hire price is payable.
